Dear colleagues,
The updated rubrics for Academic Portfolio Review have been posted on the innovation/reinvention site. All updates/changes to the rubric can be viewed by joining the Program Review Teams Channel. This will be the last revision to the rubrics, though we will continue to accept recommendations and questions about the data.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind the campus that this review of our academic programs is designed to be fully comprehensive. Relatively low rubric scores should not, all by themselves, be construed as reason for concern about programs. Rubric scores are the beginning of the evaluative process, not the end. They inform our inquiry, but do not determine the outcomes. As reviewers in the colleges and schools do their work and make recommendations to their deans, they are encouraged to use all available information to take stock of our current offerings, asking whether we have the appropriate portfolio for our mission and our evolving campus environment. The primary use of the rubrics is to direct our questions, not provide answers.
We encourage you to attend any of the following drop-in workshops designed specifically to answer questions about the rubrics, cost and revenue analysis spreadsheet, dashboard data definitions, and/or the methodology employed. During these sessions you will have the opportunity to engage directly with members of the data team responsible for creating these resources. The dates of the workshops are as follows:
- October 24th, 10:30-12:00 in person (NIB 510)
- October 25th, 3:00-4:30 online (see details below)
- November 1st, 9:00-10:30 online (see details below)
- November 2nd, 3:00-4:30 in person (NIB 510)
Be well,
